Hi,

New to the neighborhood here.

I'm wondering what are the closest places open 24-hours(or nearly)?
(from vanderbilt & prospect).

I am surprised not to see any on Vanderbilt as it seems to be pretty happening in the day..

Would like to know of a pharmacy, convenience store, and a pizza or other food place?

Thanks a lot.

I saw supposedly Duane Read at flatbush & prospect is open 24 hours but they don't answer the phone.. is that true?

  • The Key Food on Flatbush is open 24 hours. So is Natural Land, on the Park Slope side of Flatbush. I'm not sure whether the Duane Reade is open 24 hours, but the pharmacist definitely is not there 24 hours. The nearest 24 hour prescription place that I know if is Neergard on 5th Ave in Park Slope.
For great late night eats, try Albaz on Flatbush (the newstand by the 7th Ave Q train entrance on the south side of Flatbush. They have a grill and lunch counter in back, and make a mean burger, cheesesteak or kebab.
  • The bodega on Underhill and Bergen is open 24 hours (although after midnight they have a little revolving door in the window to order from ).
  • the duane reade is 24 hour but the pharmacy closes at 9 (8 sat 6 sun, I think)
  • So many things are 24 hours. All cash biz, yes sir all cash biz. Take your 3am asprin buy,or that running nose at 404am get down to Flatbush. God knows we need some 24 hour stores, quality of life, yes quality. No more waiting for Qtips or cough drops like some backwater town,24hours thats what I need. Do they deliver? Velvet slippers thats what I need. Where is my wristwatch?I am gettin one of those self cleaning cat litter things, I need it. Live and live large and all night.
  • No one has mentioned the beautiful and never annoying PATHMARK yet. For quick and convenient shopping trips, meeting friendly neighbors, at any hour of the day.

Thanks everyone for all the useful info, I was hungry on Flatbush last night and I could not find this place!

Can anyone tell me what major things it is near say? (american apparal, duane reade, brownstone billiards, burrito bar, el jegua)

    Is there a sign?

Thanks. Wasn't too late so we managed to eat at Burrito bar which was pretty good.
  • There's no huge sign. It's the newsstand right at the entrance of the subway. It nondescript. Look for the guys begging for $$ out in front. the counter is all the way in the back. The food is terrific! Love the cheesesteak.
  • walk to the back of what looks like to be a run down deli.
