Subject: Cadman Park Rally April 9 & online petition

Hello Friend of Cadman Plaza Park –

We wanted to give you some exciting updates. First, there is a new
online petition so please sign it asap. Please also encourage others to
sign it; send it to friends that care about this park, veteran’s
issues, all NYC parks, the environment and nature. Here is the link:

Please join us for a rally this Sunday, April 9 in the park – let’s
stand up for the park together! We need to tell officials that we want
the park repaired but we don’t want artificial turf there -- our park
and war veterans deserve much better. It has the only large natural
grass lawn in the area, which needs repairing and a little TLC to be
restored. Then the WHOLE community can use the lawn for whatever they
want including picnics, reading a book, soccer games, running, playing
with their kids and dogs and enjoying nature.

We have the support of many city groups, community organizations,
parents, other parks groups and more than 33,000 veterans in the area.
MANY OF OUR PARTNERS WILL JOIN US AT THE RALLY, as will parks groups
from other boroughs. We have received strong interest from the community
about raising money to help care for the park.

We will gather and rally in the park and then
will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian path to City Hall.
You are welcome to join us for any part of the rally.
