Good-bye good riddance, '00s

Subject: Good-bye & good riddance, '00s

  • I'm so sorry that all of your lives suck, but, for me, this past decade was amongst the best in my life. I got married to a wonderful woman, bought my first home, furthered my education, got a more stable job with a 30% pay raise, took a series of fun and interesting domestic and international vacations, and have seen my Prospect Heights neighborhood get more gentrified than I'd ever hoped (which, being a homeowner whose in it for the long haul, is a good thing).

I could go on, but the last thing I want to do is interfere with your doom and gloom funfest.
  • I hated this decade. I hope it was the worst of my life for many personal reasons.....I have learned more than my share of lessons in the past 10 years.

On a public note, I'd add the murder of my lovely dry cleaner, Linda Woo in WT. RIP, Linda.

  • I hate to be the one to tell you, but the new decade does not start until 2011. 2010 is the last year of this decade.
  • My last 10 years were certainly positive.

the world's last ten years? ...it could go either way

It's funny, within the past week I've been seeing a lot of the best decades list, not the doom and gloom of this one, and then an ensuing argument of when the decade starts/ends.

You would think so, but no.

Or rather, he may know, but he believes that if he keeps lying about it it will inflate his property value. He has previously admitted as much.
  • Taking out the word "Jesus" from the military prayers.
    Taking prayers out of schools.
Seasonal colors. Why can't I wear white/pastels in the winter?
    Foreclosures.
    collections agencies.
    Humanity vs Just Business.
    The Simpsons.

    HAPPY NEW YEARS TO EVERYONE.

You never could- this decade wasn't the one that decided that. White shoes in winter? Ewww.

Don't even get me started on pastels....

But hey- at least you can drink red wine with chicken if you want!
  • Haha...I started reading some of the lists and thought they were good things lists. Each to his own.
  • Hey Fancy, when you write "The Simpsons" it's preceded by "the decline of...," right? Because it was awesome all those other decades. But 20 years is just to long even for The Simpsons.

Also, I'm pretty sure prayer have been taken out of schools lots of times. E.g. 1962's Engel v. Vitale.

And, I think Stacy and Clinton say it's OK to wear whites and pastels anytime. And they're experts.

You think I care what these turds think about fashion?!?!?

  • I am what was and you will have to repeat. Too bad you don't have a clue what
you will become. WHATCHUWANT? Do you know?
    I'm wasting my time here.
AGAIN, HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL

Whoa...Fancy. Lay off the eggnog, mkay?

If you take a sec to look up the quote, you'll see what it means and what it represents. But you won't, cause, you know, you're wasting your time here....le sigh.
  • Hey, this was supposed to be a smackdown of the past 10 years, not each other! I apologize for my off-topic post. Back to the smackdown!

    With...

Reality shows come to dominate airwaves (admittedly, I like What Not to Wear and Project Runway)
