Mulchfest @ Green-Wood-Jan 9th 10am-2pm

From a local news group e-mail:
Mulchfest 2010: Chip in! Mulch your tree! Help NYC grow!

The Green-Wood Cemetery and Brooklyn Botanical Garden invite you to bring your holiday tree (sorry, no wreaths) to Green-Wood (or a designated City Park) to be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the city! Remember to remove all lights and ornaments before bringing the tree to a MulchFest site.

10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, directly inside the main entrance at 25th Street and 5th Avenue.

Also bring a bag and shovel and take home fresh FREE MULCH! And, mulch is available to the public for free year-round.

There will also be two Master Composters on-site to answer any of your composting or mulch questions.

For more information on additional locations, visit the Mulchest 2010 web page: http://www.nycgovparks.org/services/mulchfest/mulchfest.html#parks

You may also drop off your holiday tree between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM from January 1 to January 10, 2010.
