Washington and Park Place — Brooklynian

Washington and Park Place

Hello, tomorrow I'm looking at an apartment on Washington and Park. I'm still in the process of becoming acquainted with Prospect Heights and would appreciate any input you have about this block as far as what amenities and services are close by, safety, etc.

Thanks!

  • Very nice block with a great location and lots of amenities. Over the past few years, the immediate area has seen many new bars and restaurants, with more to come. The only drawback is that corner is near a bar with a rear courtyard, which may create some noise during warmer months. A few years back, a family would park their car near the corner deli across the street and blast music at seismic levels, but I don't recall seeing them much this past summer, so I think they may be gone (or have acquired some manners).

All in all, I'd highly recommend the area.
  • I agree with all that. Park between Underhill and Washington is one of the nicest blocks around--beautiful, mostly pretty quiet, and increasingly convenient for bars, restaurants, etc. (I can't really speak for Park east of Washington.)
  • I agree with what Jack Krohn said as well -- nice block. BUT the family did park their car this past summer with loud music on the north west corner -- it never was playing really late, but it was there for sure.
  • I live directly across the street from where said car was parked and a window onto the alley effectively tunneled the music into my apartment. A window facing a warren of backyards transmitted the occasional sound of amplified guitar music.

I can't comment much on the amenities, as I've admittedly been a poor neighbor from the standpoint of supporting local businesses.
