Subject: Its 1am and they're drilling??

Seriously, its 12:57am, I'm hearing major street drilling/construction happening nearby (I'm close to Atlantic and Washington) for about the past 1.5 hrs. Someone PLEASE tell me this is illegal and if I called 311 they'd have to stop? It's not the 1st time this has happened, but now I'm curious what the ordinances are around here. Any ideas?

Yes, it is and you should have. They can only do that in a true emergency - not for regular construction. Instead of posting here, you should just call

i've got garbage pickup by Sanitation Dept. on my residential street 2 to 3 times a week at 2:30 a.m. Its an odd time to collect garbage and of course it's really noisy.

i have the garbage collection around like 3 am a few times and its perfectly legal when the government does the noise thing . and heli fly by's etc...

i seen road construction folks around that time too. when they do it. you can't do much.
