Are you doing mostly kids or a mix of kids and adults?
-
I'm doing a mix. Also, I have some older kids like 10-14.

If you are looking for an entertainment-type place Funtasia might be your best bet. They have stuff for the little ones as well as the older.

If that's not what you are looking for there is a nice Knights of Columbus place on 86th St. and I think 11th Ave. that you can rent. They have their own caterer and its a very clean spacious place.
Good luck and happy birthday to your little one! -
Thanks Stacey!!

I went to this place across the street from Russo on the Bay called Carousel and it was great with a game room for the kids and the food was good as well..,,
Only thing it's not close to where we are...
Hmmmmm
How about that Pizza place on 86th across from Nathans? -
I thought I had posted a response to this but it seems not . . . It it is not in the area but check out The Old Stone House. We had my sons 1st birthday party there and it was lovely. They charged $200 flat for the room rental. We ordered in bagels and dairy platters (tuna fish, egg salad, etc) from a place they recomended. We brought in soda, juice, water, etc. We got the room and had some time to set up and had to leave it broom clean. They do not have a full kitchen to prepare food but there is a fridge and a sink. It is right next to a park and there is an interesting museum dedicated to the Battle of Brooklyn downstairs. The times to use the room like this are limited but if you can work within that I feel it is the best bang for your buck. I picked up a plastic tablecloth roll and cut them to size. I purchased a disposable helium tank (they sell them at party stores or BJ's and Costco) and balloons for easy decorations and the cake came from BJ's (they sell a 1/4 a sheet cake vs the half sheet cake minimum at Costco). Honestly I can't say anything but great things about our experience there.
Check them out at http://theoldstonehouse.org/space-rental/.
Weekends: $200/4hrs for the Great Room between 11am & 4 pm on Sat & Sun; $75 each additional hour.

Thank you for all the suggestions!! I booked it at carosello. Their food is excellent and I loved the game room. Thanks again!!!

Ok, so I had my son's baptism at carosello and wasn't happy with their services. I'm now looking for a new place for his first birthday. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance!
