Trouble with Internet? Verizon?

Hi, my roommate and I are having trouble with downloading almost anything. Some sites will open but most won't, the pages just keep trying to load.
Anyone have a suggestion or the same issue.
Could it be that we both downloaded GoogleChrome?

On a wired home network, or wireless?

On a Mac or PC (or anything else)?

Do these problems only happen in Google Chrome for you, or also in other browsers?

Called Verizon. Had an amazing...technical assistant who stayed on with us for at least an hour-and-a-half! She could or would not say Google Chrome may have been the culprit but...alluded to it in a back door sort of way.
She also downloaded some programs which deflaggler & cleaner...as I come from the corporate world where the help desk did all.

She helped me clean up this ole laptap and my roomies.

So, be careful about using Google Chrome. I personally stay with Mozilla FireFox.
