Okay, so I know you've read my posts, here's more:

I think the NY Times article is fairly accurate, but when it comes to the numbers I don't believe I spend as much as they portrait. Like, I don't pay anyone to cut my lawn, I do it myself. I also believe that I don't pay as much for staples, (paper towels, soap, etc..) here as I did in Bk. And since we have the space, we can shop at Costco and stock up, which makes it even cheaper to shop. We also had a car both in BK and in South Orange, and while we drive more during the week here, we use to escape the city every weekend and take drives to the country, so that pretty much balances out.

Right now in South Orange there are 138 properties on the market. Add in Maplewood and that number gets up into the low 300's. And with interest rates at such an all-time low, there's no reason why now is not the time to buy.
