Authorities are still marveling over the incredible case of the cargo kitty which somehow managed to survive a 45 day trip from China to Canada while locked in a shipping container.

Severely malnourished and in extreme distress, the cat was discovered tucked between granite slabs and wood bracing for the entire trip, and “had been meowing for weeks,” according to Amy Bindman an interior designer at ICON Stone and Tile, the company that had imported the shipment from Asia.

"We had to empty the entire container before being able to reach the cat, because (she) jumped and hid in a corner that was unreachable,"

The kitten, named Mandarin is now being cared for at the Calgary Humane Society. Desiree Arsenault, a spokesperson for the shelter stated that she “weighed only half the weight of kittens her age. She was about six months old.”

No one knows how the animal managed to survive so long without food or water, although Arsenault speculated that "There may have been mice or things running round the enclosure.”

they applied, but when I told them what we were paying they stormed out of the room and said something about how they were entitled to an insanely high salary and benefit package.

So, I hired "Mandarin" both because I thought she'd be a superior employee, and I wanted to pre-empt a lawsuit by Armchair Warrior that I was somehow discriminating against Asians.

I couldn't be more pleased with my decision and its outcomes.

I considered Mumbai, but he was over qualified.
