Anybody getting "out of area" calls from Chase regarding the settling of debts other then Chase accounts? Caller initiated the conversation with the last purchase on your debit card and then go on to other obligations found on a credit search by someone who knows enough information to get a full report.

Hm. You may already have done this, but if you google the number (no parentheses or dashes, just 10 numbers together) you may find other people discussing it on sites like whocalled.us etc.

It's possible that it may not be Chase at all, but someone else posing as Chase trying to get your SSID and get you on the hook for something else. That's where all those sites with people discussing numbers are quite helpful.

Then again, it may be someone at Chase, no idea.

Thanks, yes I presumed all of the above, but the ID came up as "out of area". Unfortunately one of the sister wives answers the phone and got flustered and hung up. If it was the first wife she would of been able to set up a trap and sent them to a happy ending.

Chase reps do have required number of calls on a monthly basis - BUT - these should be local branch reps.

There are some calls going out regarding overdraft regs regarding your debit card and monthly transaction fees on savings accounts if balances fall below $50K ($20/mo. - so for the privilege of Chase using my money and giving me a pittance of interest I now have to PAY them) - but these are usually follow ups to mailings.

Easiest way - get the number and call them back. If its a scammer, report it ASAP to Chase since they have somehow obtained enough info to be dangerous.
