Apartment Scam Warning
Some crooks in Nigeria are listing available apartments in Brooklyn and Manhattan in an attempt to scam people out of the deposit. Posted below is my correspondence with them, which I hope will prevent anyone from sending money.

Subject: Nigerian scam
Unfortunately this is very common.
You should have never corrected him "If you are in Sudan why is the money going to Nigeria. Sudan is in east Africa not west." now he can correct himself when finding other victims.
I like to string them along and make them think I'm interested in the apartment. you can also send them via western union 1 penny (if you have the time). they will make the trip all the way to their branch to get 1 penny. -
This scam's been going on a while. When I was apartment hunting over a year ago I got basically the same email. Missionaries who are in Africa now and are offering the apartment cheap to a good person...will send keys when you send money. It's a fairly obvious scam but people must be falling for it or it wouldn't still be around.
