accident on 4th ave @ 45th?

Anyone know what happened with that awful accident on 4th ave this afternoon? I got home at around 3pm and police had blocks cordoned off. Four doors and the whole top of the car was sheared off a sadan, and a minivan looks like it was hit head on. I saw that a white pickup had gone onto the sidewalk; a baby stroller was still there. From the severity of the police response, I imagine there were casualties (sad).
