Please take down your wind chimes, St. John's Place — Brooklynian

Please take down your wind chimes, St. John's Place

If you have wind chimes on your fire escape or patio, please consider taking them down. They echo around the air shaft/alley between Sterling and St. John's and really make a lot of noise all day and night. It is especially annoying on very windy days like today, but they bug me all the time.

Thanks for helping to stop the noise pollution!

  • But they sound so pretty.

  • I wish that was the only noise pollution I had to deal with. I live in perpetual fear of summer, when I become virtually homeless from my own apartment, because I have the luck of being on the first floor right by the entrance where people park their cars and blast horrible music all day and night long.

If its your neighbor, perhaps you can talk to them in person. Try bringing a gift with you, like some cookies or something as a good will gesture, when you make your request to have them take down the wind chimes.

That worked for me when I was living in a more civilized location.

Now, the animals where I live, won't even respond to the cops coming when I call the precinct. 311 never works, and talking to my neighbors to be quiet even with good will gestures gets "fuck you's".
