The Department of Health will be spraying for mosquitoes to help prevent West Nile Virus tomorrow, 8/3/2011, between 8:15 PM and 6:00 AM in the following Brooklyn zip codes: 11215, 11218, 11219, 11225, 11226, 11232, 11238. DOHMH recommends that whenever possible, stay indoors during spraying. Go to http://www.nyc.gov/health or call 311 for details.

It says it is
acutely toxic to a wide spectrum of insects while being relatively safe for mammals and harmless to plants.
However, despite these assurances, I read the rest of the page. I have reached the conclusion that it is not wise to use pyrethroid as a substitute for flour the next time I am making cookies and run out.
