Apartment for Rent (August 1)
Here's the rub: our roommate, Jose, was gifted a rent-controlled lease
in a Manhattan apartment. He must leave with haste. That's why you're
reading this ad for a vacancy available August 1.
We have this: a good-sized, 10x12-bedroom in a three-bedroom
apartment. The room is large enough for a bed and a desk, and has its
own closet. For goodness!
The apartment: It's a three-bedroom behemoth. We have two living rooms and a separate kitchen. Lots of community space. The pad is fully
furnished. Wireless DSL. We're on the top floor of a three-floor
brownstone. Only downstairs neighbors.
The apartment is five minutes from the Brooklyn Museum. Ten minutes
from Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Library. Farmer's market on the
weekend. Fifteen-minute walk from the Park Slope Co-Op. Bars,
restaurants and breakfast joints aplenty. You know the deal. Five
minutes from the 2/3, 4/5. Ten minutes from the B,Q, and C. B48 to
Williamsburg outside our door.
About us: my roommate and I are both 27. I'm a freelance writer. He's
a graphic designer. I work at home several days a week, and
late nights in an office the other days. My roommate follows the same
schedule. We're low-key, but when we're working at home, we're at
work. We go out at night. Guests sometimes visit. We ride swooping
circles around Prospect Park, and throw the heck out of Frisbees.
Be straight. Be gay. Be whatever. Just pay your rent on time. We
prefer someone who has lived in NYC, and not a newbie. Or fresh from
college.
Rent is $550/month + $40 for all utilities. $550 deposit required.
Open House:
DATE: Sunday, July 10: 6 to 8 p.m.
