Good Morning...nice weekend..hair appt.on Saturday-watched Justin Saturday night..went for lunch with friends yesterday...it was 99 degrees here-too hot to sit by the pool..cleaning today-may go by the pool later today-93 degrees..remember the military & their families today..bye

Good evening, We spent a quiet Memorial day but we do not forget those who valiantly fought to give us the freedom that we enjoy. Quite often we take those freedoms for granted. If we only could speak to people from Europe or Asia who lost their freedom in the 30's and 40's to dictatorships. I can not imagine what it was like in the concentration camps and the POW camps. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE MEN & WOMEN WHO KEEP US FREE OF TYRANNY. :salut:

Hello All,

In Florida we know the water is lousy so we have a thing called Reverse Osmosis. (R.O. for short). It is installed under the kitchen sink and leads to its own faucet on the sink as well as to the cold water tap and ice cubes in the Refrigerator. It is pure water. Everything is filtered out. We use it for drinking and cooking. The regular tap water is fine for dishes, showering and washing the clothes.

Judy, I hope your daughters baby shower is a big hit.

Went to my primary Physician today (fancy name for the family Doctor) I have a sore on my cheek that will not heal up. He recommended a Dermatologist. His office wanted to give me an appointment for July 31. That is two months from now. I though all these guys are warning you to get in right away to be checked. Carol called back for me and we got an appointment with the Doctors P.A. (physicians Asst) next week! I would rather see the regular Dermatologist but do not want to wait 2 months!I am also dissapointed that your family Doctor does so little these days. They always want to send you to a specialist. I told him I thought I had enough Doctors whose title ended in "ist". I have a Radiation OncoloGIST, a UroloGIST, an OpthomoloGIST, CardioloGIST (two of them), a Geryontologist

and a plain old Dentist. Now add a DermotoloGIST. I guess that I must be the StupidoloGIST>>>> :bounce:

A fond hello to the good people of GOD'S COUNTRY!

Brooklyn Day is approaching. Back in the 60s we always had the day off from school and always spoke of our pride in the privilege of being from Brooklyn. Didn't do much celebration other than play softball and maybe have a hamburger washed down with a good milk shake or root beer float.

How will you celebrate Brooklyn Day, 2012?

I also remember being off for Brooklyn Day.

I live in Staten Island now.Born and raised in Brooklyn and still do most of my shopping there and visit whatever friends I have left there.

I saw a quote.....BROOKLYN..WHERE MY STORY BEGINS.....

I will always hold Brooklyn n my heart.

AIN'T NO PERSON LIKE A BROOKLYN PERSON....(The original Brooklyn people cause it is so different now.)

I think will make a sign and put it outside m house with a flag that will say HAPPY BROOKLYN DAY...THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!!

If you go back a little further then the 60's you will find that Brooklyn day was called Anniversary Day and the reason you were off from school was so you could march in the Annual Anniversary Day Sunday School Parade. All the S.S, in Brooklyn converged in Prospect Park at the end of their Parade Route. We had such notables as Mayor LaGuardia, Governor Dewey, President Eisenhower etc:. review the parade. O:)

I went to Babies R Us today, oh boy I wanted to buy everything that was left on the registery (which was not much) but I had to stop myself, I bought enough!!!!!

So far she still doesn't know..(unless she is just not telling me) so I hope its a real surprise...

Well hope its nice out tomorrow...
