Pot-Bellied Seahorses at the New York Aquarium — Brooklynian

Pot-Bellied Seahorses at the New York Aquarium

image

These are pot-bellied seahorse babies recently born at the New York Aquarium. The babies--known as fry--were born to several sets of parents. This is a threatened species. Without strict regulations in place, this animal could face future extinction.

The new babies can be seen in the aquarium’s seahorse hall alongside other species such as northern and southern seahorses and pipefish.
