My name is Carlos. I studied piano and composition at Columbia University. I'm the bandleader/songwriter for Ava Luna, who has released albums to critical acclaim, and been on multiple tours of the US and Europe. I co-founded and co-run a recording studio in Bushwick, as part of a multi-use arts space called the Silent Barn.

I want to begin an ongoing discussion with you (or your child) about what music means to you -- what kind of music you wish you could create, or play, and the best way to go about it. If it means learning classical piano pieces, I've taught piano to students of all levels for several years. If it means learning to play guitar in a band, I can be the coach. If it means recording your own rock opera, I have all of the experience and tools we'd need to do it together. I'm hoping your dream will be some combination of all of these things!
