The Farm on Adderley

Yes Flatman, we've been 3 times now. It's a terrific plus to the neighborhood. Nicely designed. Attentive service. Just great to have and hopefully is a harbinger of things to come on Cortelyou Road... (How long have we been saying that?) Food's pretty good, tho a bit mixed. Menu is small at this stage. Artichoke Ravioli's: Big Thumbs Up. And although the NYTimes liked the burgers, and for me burgers are the keystone of a neighborhood joint, ours were too dry, overcooked and bland, perhaps they use super lean meat, but ... I hope they revisit the burger (and muffin vs. bun).
I might add the kitchen does seem to back up... our food has always come out timely, but every time I've been, I've seen another table be frustrated with how long it takes to get the food out.
BUT... these are all things which will be ironed out I'm sure... it just has the feel that these folks will keep tweaking till the get it all right! -

I've been there a couple of times and so far so good. The burger was particularly nice. They put up a bit of a fancy front, but I have a feeling it will become more of a neighborhood joint over time as the sharp edges get worn down. -
i went there once when it first opened. lovely food, nice service, good wine list. have nothing but wonderful memories from the experience...

I spent years in the restaurant industry and can be a harsh critic, and I have to say that I was very impressed. I felt like it was a big hit on so many levels. Loved the food, the wine, the service, the music, the decor, all of it. There's this great balance of well-executed food and a totally relaxed attitude about it. Met one of the owners and you could tell that she took pride in it, but wasn't pretentious about it. Our waitress also was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food and wine. It was just so sad for me that I was dining there the evening before moving out of the neighborhood. But I will definitely trek back there again and again.

It's delicious and a nice place to go after diner if you just want to get a drink.

I went in on Sunday afternoon. Although the kitchen was closed, we sat and had some very tasty bloody mary's and did some nice people watching in the front seating area. Looking forward to living around the corner from this place.

We finally got there this past weekend. Atmosphere was totally relaxed. The food was excellent–interesting without being pretentious. Our server, a woman, was great. The music was straight out of my iTunes shuffle. We had two little kids with us, who both enjoyed the food. We felt they were welcomed (they were on good behavior).

I like The Farm, though to be honest I prefer Picket Fence, both in terms of the food and the ambience. Both are great restaurants, though, and I'm glad they're there! -
Had a truly remarkable meal at The Farm a few nights ago. They had a cheese plate that was excellent & our group also had 4 really tasty entrees. Cool space too.
-
The Farm is where I take my dad, Picket Fence is where I take my wild friends.
-
I may be checking this place out soon
-
I did go, very nice place.
I checked out Vox Pop on the way too -
I heard a rumor that Pickett fence was closing and that it will be a Conn. Muffin..
Anyone know what is going on there? -
i heard a rumor about Conn Muffin... but i didnt realize that it would be at the expense of Picket fence... ouch
-
The Connecticut Muff is going in next door to The Farm not replacing Picket Fence. Supposed to open late July/earlyAugust.
-
thats cool... it will be nice to have another coffee shop in the neighborhood.... vox often runs out of seats...

I practically live at the farm. Their food is generally great. The owners and staff are also extremely friendly and live in the neighborhood. The back yard is really nice. And the chocolate mousse dessert is killer. Go there if you haven't yet.

My wife and I went to The Farm's New Years Eve party this past New Years, and it was terrific! The only problem was there were TOO MANY people! The food was GREAT! It was formal optional, so you had a spread of dressed up, and dressed down. My wife and I were dressed up and it was VERY nice being able to go to a NICE restaurant for an occasion and WALK home! They seem a bit pricey for the neighborhood but its good to have the option.
