Planning to take Ocean Pkwy bike path to Coney Island this Saturday. If anyone wants to go too, let me know. It's an off-road path (between the main road and service road).

The Mermaid Parade is on Saturday and should be fun just to ride down and check it out. And of course get a hot dog!

I might be biking to Rockaway Beach via Bedford and Flatbush this Saturday....is anyone up for a very leisurely ride? I'm not a speed freak so I take my time.

If you want to get to Coney Island or the Rockaways you'd be far better off by taking Rugby Road which starts off of Caton Avenue on the south end of Prospect Park.

It turns into East 14th and then at Avenue P you head over to East 12th and that takes you right down to Neptune Avenue.

From Neptune Avenue you can turn left to head to the Rockaways or turn right to head to Coney Island.

I don't find the Ocean Parkway bikepath very safe due to the fact that drivers turning in front of you aren't looking for you.
