Reply from my (our) congresswoman
I sent her a note last month. FWIW.
Dear (bigguy):
Thank you for contacting me regarding impeaching Vice President Dick Cheney. I appreciate you taking the time to express your views on this important political issue.
As you know, Dick Cheney has repeatedly violated his constitutional duties to preserve and protect the U.S. Constitution. The vice president played a central role in making the administration’s case for war with Iraq. He manipulated pre-war intelligence and asserted that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. He falsely linked Iraq to the attacks of September 11th as justification for war. More recently, he has threatened Iran and seems intent on leading the country down a similar path. Dick Cheney was also central in the CIA leak scandal, though it was his chief of staff, Scooter Libby, who was prosecuted for the crime. Most recently, he asserted that his office is not part of the executive branch in an attempt to avoid the disclosure of documents to the National Archives.
Like you, I am extremely concerned about the vice president’s blatant disregard for the truth, our Constitution and our country as a whole. I was proud to be one of the first co-sponsors of Congressman Kucinich’s impeachment resolution, House Resolution 333. This important resolution impeaches the vice president for high crimes and misdemeanors. Dick Cheney needs to be held accountable for his actions, which have lead to the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis.
Thank you again for sharing your views and please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.
Sincerely,
Yvette D. Clarke

If only we could send Dick into the "Phantom Zone". The world would be a better place.
 -
Yea but then he'd be a Phantom Menace

So what does it mean if the bill is in subcommittee? I mean, how long does it usually take for a bill to go from there to the House floor?
BTW, thanks for posting that link, qtrain. What a useful site! -
What can we do to help/support this action? (impeachment)

I guess sending things to your congresspeople is a good way to start. It's certainly pretty easy - there are a lot of 'contact your representative' pages online with links to the ones for your state.
I think there are also some impeachment organizations out there.
Howdy, Stranger!
