I have a little info on it, as I live in the building next door.

Not too long ago, we started to see water damage in the wall above our fireplace...that wall was up against the boarded up building. Our landlords determined that water was leaking in from that building, given it's dilapidated state. They mentioned that they've tried many, many times to contact the owners of that building to let them know it is causing issues for theirs. They have even asked to buy it several times...all in all, the owners of that boarded up building have been unresponsive. The thought is that it is a family, dispersed across the country, that is either sitting on it and/or doesn't know what to do with it.

Do you mean the one next door to the bodega (the one BrookeF is talking about) or across the street from it?
  • the one across the street from it. the one that is boarded up. with graffiti all over it.

Yes the person who owns it used to live on the top floor and then he moved out. He is not in very good health but he has not taken anyone's offer to buy the property. The garage across the street has asked to buy it as well as a client of theirs who wanted to make it a cafe. The top floor actually has a very nice apartment up there (you would never know from the outside). He has no one to pass it on to but his mental health is failing and I fear those around him may be trying to get over on him.

Also the same problem BF has with his next door neighbor my aunt (who lives next door to this building) has so many leaks into her basement and there seems to be quite a few rats calling this place their home.
  • talking about the garage in the area. they are selling um the with the name auto something with ugly house extension in the back on that block.
