I have a great bike...that i never ride....because I find it extraordinarily boring going by myself....

are there any recreational (i.e. non-spandex-y-outfit wearing) bike groups that get together on the weekends that anyone can recommend?

or to get even more specific...are there any women's bike groups?

I've been on a few rides with the Five Borough Bike Club http://www.5bbc.org/ and enjoyed them. They're a nice bunch of people and it's good to get out and about with others. I don't wear spandex though many of them do, but they're not a bunch of crazy competitive types!

I'm a gal too, and have gone along on my own and all is fine.

Incidentally, I think I'm going to do this ride to Dykers Heights to see the houses all decked out in their crazy over the top Xmas lights!
