Free Beginners Capoeira Class in Prospect Park - Saturday May 31st at 10am

If you've ever wanted to try the Afro-Brazilian art of capoeira, here's your chance to try a class for free. We'll be meeting at the Grand Army entrance of Prospect Park this Saturday at 10am - class will be from 10am-11:30am.

Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.

Capoeira is an African-Brazilian art form that combines dance, martial arts, music and acrobatics. Africans in Brazil created Capoeira over 400 years ago as a way to defend themselves and maintain their culture in the face of the harsh and oppressive conditions of slavery.
