Beginning in 2008, Go Green! Greenpoint! was the first Earth Day Festival to take place in North Brooklyn. Since then, this event has become an annual staple of community life. Each year, Go Green! Greenpoint! has grown in participating organizations and businesses, and attendance. Our event includes education with schools, community groups, and companies displaying research or art projects that will enhance our appreciation and understanding of our environment. We have also provided recycling for bicycles, electronic equipment, clothing, books, and toys. The event hosts green contests for children and adults, wellness with judo, yoga, and other classes, vendors with enviro-friendly merchandise, and live music and dance performances.

Since
2009, Town Square has been promoting environmental consciousness at the
local level through our Greencycle Swaps.  One man’s trash is another
man’s treasure! Drop off your cleaned gently-used & working items,
browse the selection & take as many “riches” as you can carry for a
$5 donation. Don’t forget to bring a bag (or cart) to tote them all! All
remaining items are donated to local charities and churches. Town
Square is a qualified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution. Your
donation will be tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
