Event: Voices of Dance - - A Conversation on Dance with Authors Sari Wilson and Iris Wilson

The PS 9 PTO and Greenlight Bookstore are hosting Voices of Dance - a thought-provoking conversation on growing up as a dancer in NYC and the power and passion of dance as an art form - will take place on Friday, June 3rd at 6:30pm at PS 9 (80 Underhill Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. 

The event will feature Sari Wilson, author of the debut novel Girl Through Glass, which follows the coming of age of a New York City ballet dancer in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and PS 9 dance teacher Iris Wilson, renowned dance, singer, actor, author of Boys Dance Too, which encourages boys to explore the diverse world of dance.  The event will be moderated by Mary Harris, host of the WNYC podcast, Only Human.  

This conversation will touch on topics such as writing about movement, growing up as dancers in New York City, and the role of arts in public education.  Tickets are $5 suggested donation at the door and the event begins at 6:30pm.
