Rats on Eastern Parkway

There has been a rat infestation on the Eastern Parkway block opposite the Museum for the past month or so.  It seems to be centered on 95 Eastern Parkway -- there are many visible rat holes in the front yard, and the rats are constantly scurrying across the sidewalk at night.  Is anyone aware if anything is being done about this?  Is it the building's responsibility or the city's?  I do see some traps on the property but it doesn't seem to be making any difference.

Call 311. It is a long standing problem at both 85 and 95 Eastern Parkway.

A really big cat would likely solve the issue.

I'd complain to Council Member Cumbo AND send lots of 311 reports on rat sightings.

DOH has bait stations out for the rats, but the issue seems to be that the nearby garbage is plentiful and tasty.

The rats never get hungry enough to eat the bait.

Bringing in one of these into an urban environment would bring a new set of problems:

We could get a smaller model.

A rat terrier would also likely work.

The DOH bait traps may be old...not sure they get refilled indefinitely.

I think this is the building that has an annex facing Lincoln Place as well?  The rats are insane on the Lincoln Place side as well.

I didn't realize this was such a longstanding problem.  Will definitely report it to 311.

I just those feral kitties are properly supervised so that they are not struck by vehicles.
