New Cafe Opening on Utica at Dean Street on Monday Jan. 9

I've been watching the renovation at the NE corner of Dean and Utica with anticipation - and this morning stopped in to see what was going on.

Turns out the space will be a coffee shop and cafe opening Monday - Dean Street Cafe.

The owner was very friendly and told me they'll roast the beans in-house, will have house-made baked goods, sandwiches and eventually have beer and wine too.  The space is still pretty bare but looks very promising, and I'm very happy to have them in the neighborhood!

Went in this morning for a croissant. The place is still being worked on, but open for business. Nice staff, good croissant. Would go back.
