Childcare

Hello,

I am wondering about childcare options in Prospect Heights for children under the age of three. It may have been covered by another thread at some point, but I can't seem to find anything. Any information anyone could provide would be great. I would ideally be looking for a program that could provide part-time care (1-3 days a week) for a infant/child six months old and older.

Thanks,

  • Why can't you just leave him a bowl of food and some water? Worked for me, look at me, I'm normal, really.

  • There are not that many options for children under two. One of the few that accepts infants 6 months and up is Eladia's Kids on Flatbush. For part time they charge 10 and hour but there is a minimum hours requirement.

Another is Educare on Washington, above the C-town. I only met one parent who sends their child there and she says its ok, plus it's extremely inexpensive.

You may have to travel outside the neighborhood: there are more options in PS. Check our parkslopeparents.com; they have an extensive list of childcare providers, daycares and preschools.

Good luck, was in your shoes not too long ago.

  • A Chai Tots just opened on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Classon, but I don't know how young they take kids. And there's the newish (and $$) Montessori on Washington,

  • Both Chai Tots and PKA who have successful pre-schools in Park Slope opened new second locations on Classon Ave. They accept children from the age of 2. Our son is at PKA and he is very happy there.
