Mod update: A foster home for this dog was sought and found as of February 20. Please visit the longer thread linked below for more info, or if the original owner shows up.

My husband & I found a cute brownish/reddish dog on Sixth Ave & 2nd or 3rd Street around 11pm last night. He's about 35 or 40lbs, and looks to maybe be a pit mixed with something smaller and hairier. He was hurt - had been hit by a car - and we took him to the vet. He's still there. He had a leash and collar, but no tags or microchip. Is he yours? Do you know who he belongs to? I'm anxious to get in touch with his owner.
Thanks,
Nicky.

Is there anyone living closer to Prospect Heights who would be willing to print out and post some flyers? If so please email me at nicky DOT agate AT gmail.
    Thanks!
