FOUND FRIENDLY CAT - HAS FOUND A HOME

We found an incredibly sweet cat, that seems kid-friendly so far on St. Marks and Grand Ave. It was in a construction site, skinny and meowing. When I called to it it came and jumped in our stroller before I could stop it, and licked my son! My son started saying "kitty, kitty" over and over again, so I brought it home in my arms.

Black and white, but very skinny and obviously lost or abandoned. Could have been lost for a while.

If this cat could be yours, please contact me. If you can foster or adopt (we will be vetting the kitty tomorrow or Saturday, including finding out if spay/neuter is needed and setting up an appointment for it and FIV/FELV testing) please let us know. We'll vet him/her, but will cannot keep it and it will go to a shelter if a stable home or owner isn't found within 2 weeks.

Please forward or crosspost anywhere you think an owner might be found.

I'll be able to take pictures tonight or tomorrow, and can send.
Thank you!

  • Subject: UPDATE

Kitty is a fixed male, about 1 or 1.5 years old. If anyone knows who this might belong to, please let me know, otherwise we'll re-home him. Thanks.
  • A picture would really help. Look under "ask a Brooklynian" to learn how to post one

No owner came forward, and kitty was vetted and is being adopted by a great family today. Thanks to everyone who crossposted or offered advice.
  • That's great news! You seem to be a kitty magnet, cats jumping into your son's stroller, climbing in your window. I guess they know who to go to.
  • HOORAY for you for caring!

  • Yeah for the kitty! Thanks for helping him out.
