Bars in Prospect Heights

i make maps for a living. I have tried to look on all the map services(google, yahoo..), but I feel they are incomplete. All I need are adresses.
I think it would be a good thing to have and use.
I also would like restarants, etc. -
dude, just walk the PH streets, take good notes, and you're good to go.
-
dude. i have, but i am asking for some help. Whats the problem with that?
-
is it going to be a very ordinary, linear map, like the alcoholic's equivalent of the mugging map? cos i'd be interested in seeing a more abstract interpretation (since the boozer's mind ain't exactly linear) of drinking in our little neighborhood.
then i'd like you to convert it into a map we can play on conquerclub.com. you'll have to work random muggings into the game somehow.
(okay, i'm not serious about THAT, but in your real map you should have a dragon sitting at the intersection of prospect and underhill.) -
I have some ideas of how to make the map original. It will have other things in it like landmarks, restarants, taxi stands..
it would be nice for some replies to go with the views though. -

See the NFT guide to Brooklyn.

No problem, MattyBlunt...just figured you outta give it a shot, and you have.
Let us not forget: the eastern side of Flatbush, from GAP to Atlantic Ave., is PH! Lots of stuff there. -
I make maps for a living.
I've got to give a shout-out to this site...cartographers likely know of it.
For inspiration, lots of good stuff here.

Don't forget Freddy's Bar
at 485 Dean St @ Sixth Ave.
just across from the
fighting 78th Precinct.
Good live music. -
Maybe Ripple Bar on Washington between Sterling and St. John's. Oh wait this is just going to create another border dispute between Crown and Prospect heights. Sorry.
-
and, at least for now, mooney's on flatbush b/t park place/ sterling.
-
and let's not forget the soon-to-be country western bar at the corner of bergen & vandy.

Time Out NY just ran a map like this of Vanderbilt:
http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/restaurants-bars/26377/bilt-to-last -
That article depresses me, as the realization dawns that my once quiet corner will now be subject to an endless round of bar patrons talking at the tops of their voices at 3.30 AM on Tuesday nights.
Yes, I'm looking at you, patrons of Barrette. -

Good idea to have such an article, but the map is just plain wrong, hah.
http://www.timeout.com/newyork/articles/restaurants-bars/26377/bilt-to-last
For example:
#12 Joyce is not on the SW corner of Park Place. It's one storefront (past Caree) just north of the NW corner. It is one of 3 stores, along with Caree cleaners and the Chinese take-out place, that occupy the ground floor of that big square bldg on the NW corner.
And then I noted that they put #8 (The Old Brooklyn Parlor ice cream place...564 Vanderbilt Ave between Bergen and Dean Sts) on the map directly across the street from the Met supermarket (the one next to where Joyce actually is).
No, the new ice cream parlor indicated as #8 is not located between Home Heating Oil and Forest Floor on the East side of Vanderbilt. As their own writing indicates, it's actually a few blocks up, and on the other side of Vanderbilt.
And those are the only two I checked, at a glance.
Hah, for so few data points, they really loused up their map.
So proceed ahead mattyblunt, by all means. -

this map seems to show the border of Prospect heights at the frankiln ave shuttle. -
oh boy...
-
The color part of that map is clearly not original. The map obviously didn't originally have any neighborhoods marked at all.

Yes, they totally took Oprah's/Couric's (pick one) head and put it on PH.
Fake.
