I've read a few blog accounts of people getting hassled at the Yards site for taking photos...I guess this is a response.
Sunday at 3pm...

This is a 1st Amendment/photographers rights issue rather than particularly an AY development issue, but it is the kind of thing that happens around political stuff. More about photos and public space here: PictureNewYork.

This is what happened a week ago
MTA cop tries to stop videographer at Atlantic Yards site

WHAT:
A "photographers' rights free expression mobilization" responding to the harassment of video artist/teacher Katherin McInnis by an MTA police officer last Sunday, February 3rd on public property within the Atlantic Yards footprint. We will discuss photographers' rights and the Atlantic Yards situation, then walk and photograph within the footprint. Depending on circumstances, we may have the opportunity to engage in a respectful information exchange with MTA police and/or private security personnel. End point: Freddy's Bar and Backroom, 485 Dean Street, corner of Sixth Avenue.

WHERE:

This Forest City Ratner executive who confronted the photographer doesn't sound very confident. In fact, she sounds kind of paranoid and crazy. It's almost as if she thought a blogger with a camera somehow had the power to mess up her business…

And she's wrong about the law, too:

"The guiding principle, that of course is muddled with exceptions, is that as long as a photograph of private property is taken while the photographer is on public property or on property that is open to the public then it is permissible to publish that photograph without permission from the owner of the property."
