vespa type moped left behind

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
Earlier in the week there was an unfortunate incident where a couple on a scooter was struck with something (trash bag?) and were thrown off the scooter.

My tenant saw this and as the couple were taken to the hospital by ambulance, he offered to let them leave the scooter on my property for safe keeping. I think they were OK, but needed to be "checked out" on advice from police on scene. They were supposed to return the next day to pick it up, but have not returned for the past week.

1) If anyone has information on how they are please let me know.

2) If anyone knows if they will ever pick up the scooter, let me know as well.

Not sure what to do with the moped.

  • i'd recommend that you hang onto it thru the weekend. since you say this is something that happened earlier in the week, that means it's only been, what, three days? you're kind to be concerned; i'd wait a bit longer.
  • Police on the scene should have a report with their names on it to contact them about their property, no? But yeah, I would wait a bit longer first.

Meaning...they ran into a trash bag in the street and crashed? Or someone threw a bag of trash at them as they rode by, knocking them from the vespa? I'm assuming the prior, but you never know these days!

I'd give them a few more days to come pick it up.
  • are they o.k.? what happened?

I think someone threw something at them...horrible. I think they are OK, but haven't the slightest.

I guess I'll wait through the weekend.
  • Maybe you should give it to your brother-in-law.
  • i will hold onto it until they ask for it back.
    i hope they are ok.
