Street Parking ?

I am planning to move in this Thursday. I have hired someone to drive a truck, but I am also driving because I need drive back a few days later.

So here are my studpid questions?

1. Are there parking meters along Easter Parkway? If not, can I park there free?

2. Do I need a parking permit if I have to park there for 5 days?

Anyway, I am planning to sell the car after I totally settle down. Let me know if you want to buy a second hand car.

  • There are spots along Eastern Parkway without meters (also on Plaza street). Any spot without a meter is free.

We don't have parking permits in NYC. However, almost anywhere you park in the neighborhood will be subject to alternate side street cleaning rules (which means you need to move your car on designated days).

You're in luck - alternate side parking is not in effect this Thurs/Friday, due to Orthodox Holy Thursday and Good Friday
  • FYI - the calendar of alternate side parking holidays can be found here: http://nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/scrintro.shtml#calendar2008

    Man, I love holidays.
