New deli on Underhill and Prospect - thoughts?

I gotta get myself ready for the backlash...
They have organic whole milk - perfect for the morning lattes - what's not to love?
Even though it's not the closest corner store for me, I've still been trying to buy things there. It is a nice little place - I'd like to see it stick around and I'd like to see some copy-cats closer to home. -

Well, you sort of said that.
I agree...my wife and I drink organic milk...and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have it there. -
I've been so accustomed to having a not-very-good place on the corner that I still sometimes forget it's there! We love the organic milk too--now we're not SOL for breakfast cereal and tea if we get home after the Met closes the night before. I've gotten some good chips and beer and stuff there, too, at the last second before a party. It does what a corner store should.

they also have wasabi peas. critical in a late night, crunch emergency. and some very calorically damaging ben & jerry's bars. merp. -
There's even ham in that thar cooler!

Subject: The Coffee
The coffee is decent...Its not Starbucks, but its a decent cup. -

Goldangit, Carnivore, you beat me to it!
I've been in there a few times. They have some nice teas and several tasty varieties of darrrrrrk chocolate. -
We get the Organic Valley and the price is the same as the Met, IIRC.
-
They also have interesting Indian and Middle Eastern side dishes in the section with the soups (and they carry Amy's, always a plus in my book), those yumtastic multi-grain tortilla chips, Cabot cheddar, and their candy bar/power bar/granola bar selection is key.
The guys who work in there are always super nice to me, too. -
my only complaint, but it's a biggie, is that they won't carry the NYT. I asked - they said they make only around .15 a copy, so it's not worth it to them as businessmen to stock it, which I can understand, but where can I get a Times? the little place by the subway entrance on Park, I suppose? is that it? thanks..

The bodega at Underhill and Sterling usually has a couple of copies. -
A plethora of organic products, one block from my apartment. Nice clerks. Impeccably clean. So far so good.

i love this deli. i was super excited for them to open, and they've been what i've needed as a corner store. also excited that i have a place to get my sausage egg and cheese on a saturday morning, and a deli sammich if i get hungry at night (although they DO run out of rolls sometimes!)
they had the times when they first opened. maybe if we beg them, they will find that enough people will buy it and they will get it back. -
I've asked the guy (presumably the owner, or at least the manager) how business is going...he said "eh...so-so".
-
i can see that. it would go better if they had the times, didn't run out of bread, and didn't charge 11bux for a six pack of brewskie...i'll add that to my comments above, but it's so convenient to me, they will have my business.
ON ANOTHER NOTE... Plan B Is now accepting resumes! And they got rid of that cheap black plastic hideousness of an indoor lawn seating set that they initially had in that place! -

You tell them that people who read the Times spend a lot of money at delis and to send them away is a bad business decision. -
Deli Cup at St. Johns and Washington has the NYT...at least on Sunday (there's usually still a dozen left in the early afternoon).
-
The place at Sterling/Flatbush stocks a full range of readables, including the NYT. Or, subscribe like I do and save!
-
Good selection, clean, and super nice. I like it!
-
to answer my own question, they sell stoneyfield organic and the price was $4.49 when i went today..
