Subject: Another "Home Depot Doesn't Have It" Moment

It's hard to find lumber or someone who will cut it to specification in the city, so Home Depot was the answer. So, why not pick up the adjustable shelf clips at the same time? Something so basic, yet after three salespeople and 30 or more minutes on the cell phone, it was another Home Depot doesn't have it moment. I just returned from Flatbush Hardware, and not only did they have them, they had brass or steel and you could buy many or just one! Friendly people there too.

Two more things... the Chinese and Mexican food place, while i am not a fan of chinese-mexican food, does have good chicken with black bean sauce.

Anyone know of a Jewish restaurant in these parts? When it gets cold I'll watnt chicken broth and Matzah balls.

  • Dykes lumber on 6th street will cut lumber to size. Though their saw is not the sharpest and will splinter the vaneer on plywood a bit.

I second Dykes. Home Depot is my last resort place. I would rather go to Lowes which is much better organized.
  • I'm so happy to have all of these great hardware stores in the neighborhood. Sure, I like Lowe's for the big stuff (and I'll avoid Home Depot at all costs), but when I need to buzz out and pick up a little thing (like shelf clips) or if I need an experienced opinion, I love having my local store so close.
