in praise of poor taste... — Brooklynian

in praise of poor taste...

i was intitially extremely displeased by the new additions to vanderbilt, not seeing any need for budweiser and sports, or crummy over-priced pizza. but then i had a little epiphany, reminding myself that it is a good thing that there are people of poor taste and places to serve them... simply because that means more of the good stuff for the rest of us! let plan b and the pizza factory draw those with no taste, and leave amorina, bar sepia, etc, for those of us with some class. its like cruise ships - i dont see the appeal, but i am glad so many do, because it keeps them away from the places i like to travel. and glad so many nyc tourists are coralled in times square or confined to their double-decker busses. etc, etc. maybe i should change my moniker to 'the misanthrope.'

I took one when I first came out here maybe fifteen years ago. We got squirted by kids with super soakers in Harlem. The tour guide person said that sometimes they fill the super soakers with pee.

    Ew.

  • Double Decker bus tours rule! We took all the out towners on the bus tour of Brooklyn the day before our wedding and everyone loved it! The tours are an easy and to show people of all ages some of the greatest parts of this awesome city and even better borough ,

And the neighborhood needs a little of everthing! Stop being snarky! If it is not your scene do not go there!

Those tour guides sometimes tell outrageous lies... :D

They're people out there who would pay a lot of money to be micturated upon. They should do the tour and save some money.

  • whole city sightseeing franchise is great in my opinion especially in world cities where "safe" public transport is non existant compared to NYC
you get a two for 1 deal in that instance
  • Try to be a bit more self-congratulatory, putz.
