  • Cluck cluck chirp chirp
  • let's do it!
  • That is way the fuck past my bedtime, but I would probably stay up just for the novelty if it is a night that I don't have my kids. :D
  • I'm there. Tell me when. :D
  • Totally down.

I can do any night, weekend or weekday. Just need a date and a good very-public location for everyone to meet at.

Could be doubly fun if we precede the ride with a few drinks at a bar. :D

That's how you break your collar bone.

    Don't ask.

Geez, between wet grass, steps, and alcohol, you don't have much luck on two wheels, huh?

I'll cop to the wet leaves/steps situation, but I was an amused bystander to the drunker speed bump wreck. Which was a really funny wreck until we figured out his collar bone was broken.

OK. It was still a bit funny then. The guy was eating the fruit off the bottom of a bowl of jungle juice because he didn't want to drink and get drunk. Lol.
  • I'm too chicken to ride in the park late at night

  • Just bumping this up- plan on a Friday in the next two weeks, folks!
  • I have no bike. otherwise, I'd totally fill up a sippy cup with mimosa and go for a bike ride at midnight. good sense is not my forte.
  • I'm very keen to do this, and kinda hoping it'll be on Friday the 13th!

(Won't be able to join if its the 20th, and hey if you're gonna do something crazy why not on such a scary date!)

Full moon is on Wed June 18 - shame not on Fri June 13.... but I guess it'll be moonlit - if the ride is on June 13th that is.

Ok, I'm rambling now. I'll shut up.
  • I'm down for this! Full moon is way better idea. :) too bad there is work the next day.

I'm waiting for a new tire for my main bike--if it comes in time, you're welcome to ride my spare bike. Don't worry, I have touch-up paint for it in case you fall down from too much mimosa.

I also kinda haven't ridden a bike in like 18 years. this might be a Bad Idea.
  • I'm interested in a Friday night ride... depending on how many other riders there are. Ideally, I'd like to outnumber the bad guys...

So... anybody get an accurate bad guy count yet? Maybe Gallup can take a poll!

So are y'all Tour de France types, or what? Because I need to fix my faster bike, but my slower bike is- well, it is easier to fix except I'll have to pedal fast. Unless you are Tour de France types, in which case I'll get dropped.

    In Prospect Park.

    At midnight.

    Muhahahaha.
  • Hmmm a semi-sauced ride could be fun. Perhaps I'll hook a 40oz up to one of those camel pack thingamajigs :o
  • I am not, repeat, AM NOT one of the Tour de France types, so if everyone else is, me and Daver will be keepin' up the rear.

Also, I think the 13th is what's up.

    Me too!

    Hooray! I hope so!

Me too. I can do 6/6 or 6/13, but I'm not sure about 6/20.
  • I'm thinking something a bit more casual, too, so definitely not looking to break too big a sweat with lots o' speed.

Any one of those fridays should work for me as of right now. Would be awesome if we can do the 20th to catch the tail end of a full moon.

Looks like about 6-7 of us are likely to make it so far.
  • Also, I don't want to spill my drink. :-'

    BEER. NOW CHEAPER THAN GAS!
  • If you guys want some to ride on a night when there are already some other cyclists out there, and don't mind sharing the park with a bunch of lycra clad bike snobs, consider 6/21. We hold an annual century in the park every year at 7p on that date. We'll be there until after midnight. I think the park's big enough for all of us. FWIW, this is our third year, and we've never had any incidents or felt at all uncomfortable.

    That's what I'm sayin'!

Would it be cool to invite some non-brooklynian posters? Possibly even a friend from Queens? If not no big deal I'll just tell them I'm washing my hair!

Ohhh, that sounds fun...except for the whole going-around-the-loop-30-odd-times thing.. ;)

Seriously, though.. that hill on the north side kicks my ass, and my bike isn't remotely made to tackle that thing repeatedly (nor is my body)..
  • If it's on the 20th, then count me in! As long as I don't have to be either fast, or lycra-clad. I'm soooo not a bike snob.

I don't own any lycra, but I have a set of particularly fetching grey leggings, if I do say so myself, that I would be happy to wear. Under some jean shorts or something.

No kidding. One time around, I laugh at the hill. Ha! Twice, I giggle a little. Half a dozen or so, it starts laughing at me and stealing my lunch money.
  • Oh, here's a question:

Shall it be on, rain or (moon)shine?
