Riding at night and in the rain... doesn't sound like a fun thing to me. Let's not do it in the rain.
-

I will definitely ride my slow bike in the rain, anytime I ride my fast(er) bike in the rain it pops a tire on me. -
Oh northside hill, how I hate your face after I've been riding all day and my friend says "hey wanna go do a lap or two around the park?"
-
wow. maybe I'll just meet you guys at a bar afterward. :-/

Is it the leggings? 'Cause I can _totally_ wear something different. Those are really more cold weather gear anyhow.

nope. it's more like "wait, multiple laps? I haven't been on a bike in a gajillion years - how is this going to work?? what if I decide I wanna go home? maybe this is a very bad idea." -

Plus, soggy leggings are not attractive. -
I'll do a rainy night if someone can build me tiny windshield wipers for my glasses :P
-
We'll have a rain date for the week after.
FYI- pencil in the books, folks- Friday, June 13th!
We will meet at GAP and afterwards head to.....some bar yet to be determined. -

I can't make the Friday night rides but would love to join you if you choose another night.
Times Up! is going to do two night rides in Prospect Park as well. They are on Saturday, June 14 and July 12, starting at 9 p.m. Meet at the northern entrance of Prospect Park/Grand Army Plaza.
Hope to meet some of you there during the July ride. -
Thanks for that info, halfpint.. I'm going to try to make it to all 3, then.
Do we have a time yet for our own ride in the park? Meet at midnight at GAP, or maybe a bit earlier? Or meet at midnight, and head out 12:15? -
I don't mind getting there a few minutes before midnight and/or starting out a few after. I'll probably shoot for 11:50 ish. Whatever is easiest for you guys.
I'll be easy to spot on my little red bike. -
I'm thinking meet at 11:45- wait for everyone to get there, but we ride at MIDNIGHT on the dot.
-
So is this definitely for 6/13 then?
Wouldn't want people showing up at 11:45 on the wrong day... -
Yes- let's Just Do It (TM). Friday, June 13th. 11.45pm. GAP.
-
Sweet.
-
if someone can write a new post as a formal announcement of this, I can link it at the top of the page (replacing "Crown Heights is on fire")
-
I'm on it, boss. Thanks!

Good idea. Because the park closes at 1AM. -

I may not be Tour de France level or lycra wearing, but I thing that even _I_ can make it around the loop in under an hour, haha! -

So that means no tricycles, people! -

This guy I knew in the neighborhood I grew up in in Queens (small place; you can get away with this type of shit) had this oversized tricycle (for which I'm sure there's a proper name) that he fixed a big plastic cooler to in the back, and a beer-holder on the handbars.
He used to ride all around the place in the summer with the thing iced & packed. -
