Freddy's v OC's Softball: Dirty, Filthy, Fun in July
Subject: Freddy's v OC's Softball: Dirty, Filthy, Fun in July
Attention sporty patrons of Freddy's and O'Connor's, the pre-Bastille Day grudge match is on!What? Freddy's V. OC's Softball
When? Sunday, July 13, 2008, 3:30-ish and onward.
Where? Prospect Park ball field
In our last episode OC's got away with the Blue Bra, 9 to 8, using their so-called "good sportsmanship". But as you can see in this June photo below, OC's used God as their secret weapon. How else do you explain these "spears" of light pouring down on OC's Captain Thomas' home run slug?

And as you can see from this Guantanamo-in-the-park photo, Freddy's Captain Pat declared revenge mumbling "With God as my witness, we'll never eat losers' pizza ever, ever, ever again!"

Report to your respective bars. First-Aid kit is available, bring your own SPF 15. You must be a patron of either bars to play. If you drink at both bars you must choose.

A friendly reminder regarding the Open Container Law in Prospect Park: as posted on this very board, the Wine Police will come to take you away. Carrying an open container of alcohol in a public is considered illegal in New York — and the "brown bag" theory is a myth.
So in the instance that one of our park's finest issues you a ticket, use these snappy phrases:
1- What booze?
2- I'm holding this for a fireman
3- It's mostly water and converted sugar
4- The doctor says its OK
5- Let go of that, that belongs to my baby
When in doubt, always beverage yourself before you enter the park grounds or carry one of those ultra-strong mints. -

TAKE THAT!
In a bold move, O'C's first baseman Terry jabs a girl in the boob. But that didn't keep Freddy's from taking the Blue Bra home. For more grudge-match photo's click on the slideshow link.

For the first two games of this 08 season, O'C's played like a bar that had recently lost its Moose. They were angry. They channeled their rage into narrow one- run victories against the once mighty, now blue braless Big Fred Machine. Team Fred was determined to bring back the bra (while allowing O'C's to keep the inflatable moose) and brought their B plus game which lasted all the way into the top of the 9th with two outs . And then they fell apart, allowing 6 runs to score - 0 earned - and bring O'C's to within one run. But despite recruiting top tier talent from Farrell's, and despite the sponsorship from Polygrip, and Chris Caveman's 4 errors in the 9th, O'C's came up short.Freddy's hung on for the victory, another one run nail biter, 14- 13. Back at 485 DEan St, where game MVP, Antoine "A-Rod" Rodighiero returned the bra to its proper perch, between the jackelope's antlers, the teams feasted mightily on pizza and mead. With the All-Star break upon us, the two teams will take a much needed rest but return later this season for another epic contest.
Howdy, Stranger!
