  • What time are the fireworks again? 9? 9:30?
  • 9pm I believe, maybe a bit later.
  • Fireworks on the Beach
Astroland and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park sponsor fireworks at 9:30 every Friday night during the season. Fireworks generally start the last weekend in June and conclude the Friday before Labor Day. For specific questions about the fireworks, please contact Astroland (718-265-2100) or Deno's (718-449-8836) directly.

  • Alfy and I can secure some Nathans chili dogs and beer while ya'll health nuts cycle down.
  • It's 8.7 miles each way according to google maps (and assuming we go straight down Ocean Pkwy). Should be less than an hour ride, although there are a bunch of traffic lights along the way.
  • I'm all for climbing the steps on the Q for this trip.
  • Damn , that sounds fun. I would love to watch the fireworks on the beach.

We weren't successful in the bike stealing sting , bcuz Mamacita turned herself in when we hadn't even stolen anything yet.
So , still no bikes for us. Her and that damn guilty conscience.[-X

My guests arrive on that day at 7pm , so they prolly won't be here till 8pm. If I could get them to go that nite , cuz they wanted to go to Coney Island for sure while they are here , we will meet you guys up there. We shall travel by train. I need some Nathans yo. It's only an hour flight sometimes no even from Det , so they can't say they are tired. We'll see. If they do want to go , or at least my bestfriend , than I'm gonna need to exchange cell numbers with someone that's gonna be there for sure so that I can call to find out where you guys are at when we get there.I've only been there once when I first got here...so.... I don't remember shiiiiiit. #-o

  • I agree. and for the record, the trader joe's enchilada pie is nasty.
  • alafairnadia wrote: I agree. and for the record, the trader joe's enchilada pie is nasty.
Yeah, it sounds nasty. Almost as nasty as ketchup on a hot dog.

while I despise ketchup (the smell alone makes me want to cry, hence my almost starting a bar fight before seeing wall-e) it is amazing when you're having dinner with vegans who feed you tofu pups in an effort to amaze you with their awesome not hot dog. it keeps grody from being worse.

and just like I'm sure that puerto ricans and DR folk everywhere are disgusted by my need to pour hot sauce on their food because I can't bear to taste it as if it were actually anything like cuban food - that'd just make me furious, as you know - I figure there are tons of folks who need ketchup to make foods bearable. it's like HP sauce. I don't get it, but whatever - sometimes people need something that tastes nasty.
  • Ahem... bringing this thread back on track: 93 degrees on Friday! Bring your swimwear.

I heart you. plus, my tv just switched to some weird giant guy whose like 2/3 naked. wtf, cats. stop messing with the remote.
  • I'm voting for 8:30 but 8pm is cool too. It doesn't really take an hour to get down there. 7pm is too close to when I get home from work, I'd never make the meet-up time.

And I will slather my hot dog in

  • I don't know if I want to be seen in Coney Island with you people.
