MOST AWESOME POST: Vote now!! — Brooklynian

MOST AWESOME POST: Vote now!!

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
As you all know, we are holding a contest to find the most awesome post in recent memory. The prize (first, second, and third) is a bottle of Three Olives Vodka.

Since we can only do 10 poll options, I had to take the liberty to narrow it down a bit - you guys nominated about 20 posts (and nobody even mentioned superjonbot's post about someone returning his lost Blackberry ... with homemade photos added).

So vote, now!! Here are the links to the nominated posts, in case you need to refresh your memory:

whynot_31's goodhearted attempt (and epic fail) to obtain the SSOC ATED letters so dear to PH Brooklynians

Livetotravel nominates "The most heart rending post ever" (WT Dry Cleaner Found Dead) but I don't know which post in that thread is being nominated. Anyway:

  • I must say -- as whatchuwant pointed out -- that her & I share responsibility for starting the midnight rides (mostly her!)....though, damnit, it was *my* thread that spawned the idea... ;)

Seriously, though, if I somehow manage to pull an upset, the vodka comes along with us all on one of the next rides, for better or (more likely) for worse. :D
  • Epic lulz.
  • I am not voting for my lost phone since the phone has not phoned home. Had to buy a new one. Somewhere there is a garbage bag ringing in a dumpster.

(I'm voting for the lost about my dry cleaner....sadly)
  • i vote WYW's post re: condoms. that shit was hilarious.
  • Eh, I'm withdrawing my vote for the dry cleaning thread....in another context, that would have been funny, but too close to home for me to laugh.

However, I still think if I hired those CL sex slaves my phone would not have gone missing

This is fixed! I also voted for that option, but there's only 1 vote tallied for it. AFN, did you actually vote for it, or did you just say you were going to vote for it?

Thanks, all. Here's the clincher- if I win for my condom or the shared thread bike ride vote, the after partay could be at my house (Possibly? Maybe?)

    VODKA FOR ALL!

    :safe: :thumright: :drunken:
  • wait. I already know how this one ends. oof.
  • Ladies and gentlemen of the forum: My name is Livetotravel. I stand before you to proclaim today: America is the land where dreams can come true for all of us.

As I stand before the Brooklynian people and think of the honor this great community bulletin board has bestowed upon me, I recall the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who made America stronger by making America more free.

He said: "Occasionally in life there are moments which cannot be completely explained by words. Their meaning can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart."

Today is such a moment for me.

My heart is filled with pride.

My fellow citizens, I proudly accept your nomination for the DiFara post.

Today, the son of working-class Americans tells all Americans that the future is within our reach - if we're willing to reach for it.

    Thank you.

    5464 registered users, 24 votes...yeah, I think we have a quorum! :D
  • Quorum (for those who had to look this up...--->me)

    1. The minimal number of officers and members of a committee or organization, usually a majority, who must be present for valid transaction of business.
    2. A select group.

Not so fast. If I'm the winner, shouldn't I get first dibs? Only fair...
  • as long as I don't end up with the root beer, we'll still be friends.

...its probably not worth it to buy some letters and try to convince people that they came from associated, just to get the tomoato.

    ...but I considered it.
