    MK, you're coming, too?? yay!

    Aww, Alfie.
  • Ooh, since I totally missed the Coney Island ride thing (needed to get up early the next day), I'll do this.

    See, you should come MK!
  • You have to put your numbers in the poll, people. We need a head count and if those numbers don't jump, we cancel.

    Thank you.
  • I think I have a +1 (or more)
  • Yummy Can't wait.
  • ADMIN NOTE: I split off a digression between 2 users about directions to the ballfields. The directions to the ballfields are included in the post above.

Ahhhh...I'm shiny and clean again! Just like the lovely rain showers we just had! :flower:

    Thanks, DH.
  • Boo! Freedom of speech please!

Um, the First Amendment means that the government can't regulate private speech. However, in a private forum like this board (which is owned by DailyHeights), the owner can regulate speech as the owner sees fit. So, for instance, you have a right to freedom of speech when you're standing on the sidewalk, but not when you're at a cocktail party in DailyHeights's living room. As the site owner, he can ask someone in his living room to cool it when they start fighting with another guest, or kick them out when they start pissing on the drapes, or whatever.

The part of the discussion that was split was off-topic to begin with and violated the site rules. The rules aren't terribly burdensome here (try getting involved on a forum like Televisionwithoutpity if you want to compare), but they're what we all agree to abide by in order to get to hang out in this nice big living room.
  • I never liked those drapes anyways
  • It's official; I won't be coming along.

Have a friend's bday to go to at some bar downtown. Next time...
  • I thought I was gonna have to work Saturday, but it turns out I'm off, so count me in. I love me some pupusas. And those nice fresh mango slices in the ziploc bags with salt, lemon juice and chili powder.

Having never attended a Brooklynian get-together before, though, I'm curious how we'll know each other. Shall I wear my avatar on my breast pocket?
  • pm me and I'll give you my cell phone # for txting/calling purposes.
  • Or, if you are riding your bike, look for the motley crew of riders involved in an extended tire pumping session. That's the traditional signal.

Actually, there's no mention of a meeting place...are we meeting at GAP and riding over, or is this a find your own way event? errr...that's not a request for directions, WYW!!

Oh, and yes, I'm planning on going. Girlfriend too - she's showing more interest in Mexican food vs. White Castle. And yes, she's one of those people who always complains about East Coast mexican not living up to her West Coast/LA standards, so i'll need some guidance to prove her wrong!
  • how about those mexican standards? ;)
  • alafairnadia wrote: how about those mexican standards? ;)
Ugg, don't make this any harder for me! :) It's a constant battle to prove we have Mexican, Sushi, and Korean food on par with LA. We've basically called a truce on Sushi thanks to Yasuda. Sadly, I think she's right on the Korean issue.
  • GAP should work as a meeting place, me thinks. We can take Union to 3rd Ave to 3rd St (turns into 2nd Pl), hang a left on Court and take that all the way down. Sound good?

    Something like this:

Looks good to me, Caaaaaaa. So, if you're walking/busing/driving- PM Alafairnadia and she'll be your guide. Bikers, PM me and I'll give you my number.

    Fun fun!

Cool, awesome BP. Big Guy coming with you?
  • dunno, but i'd say it's likely. i'll ask him.
  • this works for me. Where will the people who are biking meet?

  • GAP

I think we should meet at 4- it'll take us 15-20 minutes to get down there, and if the lines are anything like I've been hearing, we need time enough to stand on them to get everything before they close down at 7....right?

    Whatchuthink everybody?
  • I'll see when I wake up after my night shift. If I wake up in time, I will definitely be there.
  • 4pm sounds like a good starting time. If Carnivore isn't there we'll ride by his place while grilling bacon to rouse him from bed with the smell of meat. Or maybe chorizo, to keep it on theme.

Weather report (if you believe in such things) looks pretty good:
Saturday- Except for a few afternoon clouds, mainly sunny. High 88F
  • ack. that means walkers need to leave at like 3. blargh. although that will give me a chance to pop by caseo's place ...
