Last Tuesday, charges were dropped against Michael Warren, a civil rights attorney, and his wife. Warren claims he and his wife were walking along Vanderbilt when they saw police officers kicking a handcuffed teen. Officers deny any misconduct in the arrest, which occured after the teen allegedly ran out of a stolen car. Warren claims when he called the officers to task for their heavy-handed tactics, one of them punched him in the face and arrest him and Mrs. Warren. The NYPD had previously claimed the Warrens had interfered with a legitimate arrest. The officers involved in the incident were not charged with any crime either

    which one holds the gun?
  • The NYPD didn't drop the charges, the Kings County District Attorney did.

True dat. Which makes me wonder. Is there any statistics by officer of charges filed (or whatever you call it when the officer writes it up) versus ones actually prosecuted by the DA office? That would be interesting.
  • and we're no closer to know what really happened.
