VAndy dead !! — Brooklynian

VAndy dead !!

Strange thing is that Vanderbilt bars are empty and just came from franklin Park and the place is jumping. So is Vandy only a weekend type of place where BT crowd come to get coked up ard drunk at our local bars?

  • Where are you from. I find it funny that you are bitching about people traveling into you hood. When did you move here?

    nice :D
  • I was born and raised in Brooklyn. Why don't you you hop back on you bridge and go home
  • Franklin Park is still kinda new, right? Maybe there's still enough of a novelty factor to get people in there on a Monday night. Sneaky, are you saying that Vanderbilt bars are dead on every weeknight, or just Mondays. Mondays don't seem like a good drinking night for me (but then again I'm not the person to ask about this).

  • A lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays, and bars may get business from people eating out in the area, especially people coming from outside the neighborhood. Also, isn't Weather Up closed on Mondays?
  • Clover Club is my choic nof cocktail lounge, even if i have to taken a cab!

everyone, but the people that travel to the neighbrhood to spend their hard earned money. Please, give me a break!
  • Funny, I've observed a glut of people on the street on Vandy every weekend since the spring broke. I just assumed that bars/restaurants are crowded as well; I know Amorina is, we eat there just about every week and that place fills up fast.

Anyway, been loving Franklin Park and its great (and shady!) outdoor space. was there on Sunday and ordered Chevellas. Five minutes after i placed the order this fella rolled in with bags of food and got the grill going. Food looked really good—he had BBQ chicken, portobello sandwiches, and some other stuff, all with sides. I think it was $5 per plate. Also cannot beat the $4 happy hour prices for superb draft beer.

I've heard this name a couple times... interested.

What's the draw and where is it (cross streets). Thanks.
  • There's this incredible rsource now adays where you can find out all kinds of amazing information like addresses and directions just by searching. Use it.
  • franklin park is in time out new york almost every week. i think a lot of people go check out the new cool place that is only 1 block from 4 different subway lines, versus vandy is a walk from a train station and isn't so new and hyped up.

i also agree that if you can't go out for dinner on monday you probably aren't going out for a drink either. i usually like to make an evening of it.
