Turn the music DOWN, St. Johns

yep, we called both 311 and the 77th. they said they won't send out a car because it's too busy...
-
Subject: 77th too busy?
They really said they were too busy?
Seems like a party this loud disrupting this many people could be addressed? That's disappointing .... a little bit scary that things can get so out of hand with no police response. -
Maybe if enough people complain, the cops will change their minds...
But those folks on St Johns have been at it all summer, every couple of weeks, with that sound system. We've lived here for more than ten years and have never heard anything like it. Everyone's entitled to have a party now and then, but no one has the right to take a jackhammer to their neighbors' skulls... -
this is directly behind my window. i really wouldn't even care that much about the music if it weren't for the asshat on the mic. seriously, people enjoy this clown? he doesn't finish a track, and not in a nice 'mixin' it up' sort of way, but he just stops shit and starts babbling. he's singing over the music twice as loud as the actual music.
what's the number for the precinct? -
last week-end there were 2 kids parties, one friday night the other saturday night- what's the address exactly?
we have all windows facing that way closed but the floor is vibrating from the bass.... how many hours so far today -- 5 so far? at least the guy chanting into the mic is gone....... ggrrrrrr......
 -
the phone number for the 77 is (718) 735-0611. the asshats' address is 421 St. John's Place.

I called the 77th and they told me they were trying to send a car over, but are too busy.
I still hear the guy screaming on the mic. -
Subject: Is this where the people were killed?
Cops swarming the street. 2 Ambulances. Kids crying. Car stopped. Fight broke out. Perhaps shots fired? I'm not going outside. -

Are you seeing this on St. John's, Addr? I hear sirens now but now the guy is screaming BROOKLYN.
Do you think our City Council person Tish James can do anything about this? http://council.nyc.gov/d35/html/members/home.shtml -
no cops, no fight, no gunshots, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed!
-
My wife reported, noticed stuff on way back from P.Park concert... told me to keep my a** inside. Lemme know what's up Evan.
-
there are definitely a buncha people hangin outside in front of the building but that crowd seems pretty chill. the crowd in the back is actually pretty chill too. no one is even dancing. just loud music and an obnoxious MC who keeps yelling stuff about faggots and bumbaclots. think he also said something about white people complaining, haha.
they must have peeps in the precinct or something, cause this is pretty audacious. seriously, i've spent all my life going to loud as shit hardcore shows, lots in houses, and people are generally conscious about trying to be inconspicuous and covering it up.
vanilla - it'd be amazing to get the body to set up on the roof and give these parties a run for their money. -
You can see right into the party, Evan?
I'm glad I didn't hear the gay bashing comments. Bad enough as it it. -
i'll also note, that last time there was a party back there this ridiculously loud, it shut down right at 11. we'll see!
-

yeah, i could easily piss on their heads.

there's like 60 people back there standing around not doing much. i'd say a good quarter of em are texting on their sidekicks. -
Ev, no word on the ambulances? I'm pretty sure someone got shot/stabbed. Kids (16-ish) were crying about something my wife told me.
-
Go piss on them. They pissed on my night.
-
We called and complained as well. 311 said they would report to the precinct but reading this makes me a lot less hopeful. The DJ is definitely by far the worst part of the whole thing.
-c -
nah, there was absolutely no cops outside and everyone was super chill. you sure your wife is thinking of the right place? it's 421 St. Johns, right across from that small laundromat next to the deli with the green awning. what time did your wife see this?
when they first set up the PA today they were playing lionel richie and old school jams. i was feelin' it.
i just think it's hillarious that from hearing it you'd think this party was off the hook, but it looks waaaaaaack.
i'm also gonna go with the assumption that the cops are in on it, just cause i want to. -
A prior occasion...

421 St. Johns -- Loud House Party
http://www.brooklynian.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=43271 -
Nooo, sorry, around 349 (the usual hotspot for drug-related stuff), scaffolding area and right across. There's been some tension there recently, I think a little turf war. The 'old skool' dealers are nowhere to be seen anymore, and AFAIK not 'down south' either. Now there seems to be a new crew, incl. 'Chubby' who used to be across (even side of the street) and much younger kids.
-
ahhhh crazy. guess it makes a bit of sense then why the cops say they are busy.
-
Subject: We can hear it on Prospect Pl too
We are on Prospect between Classon and Grand -- apartment windows face south. It's unbelievable that this party is two blocks south yet feels like it's under our windows. -
haha guy on the mic said the nypd was gonna give him a permit for the 23rd. more to come!
-
What finally shut them up?
Ah PEACE. -

They ran out of ganja and alcohol?

Subject: Was that all the way down on St. Johns?
I live on St. Marks and Franklin, and could hear loud, loud noise until way after 2am--was that all the way down on St. John's? There was a Jamaican guy on the PA and I could hear it out the front and back windows of my apartment (back faces south and it was as if the party was in my back yard).
The guy was saying something about Franklin and Park so I called in a 311 complaint at 1:45am and said that's where the noise was.
Sounds like it could have been different? Someone said the St. Johns party stopped at midnight.

Start filling up a bucket of piss for the next party.
