Costs of Parking in PH? — Brooklynian

Costs of Parking in PH?

Hello all,

my mom has a wonderful car which she doesn't drive much anymore and I am thinking of buying from her. I am only wary about the parking.

How much does a monthly parking rental cost in PH? Does anyone know of an individual with a garage to rent? Or does anyone have a garage that is affordable, that they like?

thoughts?

thanks in advance.

  • Right around you, $280+/mo, a bit less if you go out further towards CH or elsewhere.
  • The garage on Underhill b/t Prospect and St. Marks is $250/month (including taxes). The one on St. Marks b/t Underhill and Vanderbilt was $225 last time I checked.
  • just play the whole drive around until you find a legit free parking spot game. or get a bike! gas prices are insane. car free for 4 years here (still its nice to have one). i have a gig tonight in the east village for example and have to bring my amp/guitar/effects/etc, so i am forced to take a car service, i am sure they will rape my wallet. $250 a month for parking, plus gas, plus insurance is nuts, but if you can swing that, by all means.
  • I'm beginning to see the light BrooklynLager. I've kept a car just for band purposes like the scenario you described. But beyond those occasional scenarios I pretty much just have a car so I can move it twice a week, pay insurance and get it repaired now and again when people crash into it while it's parked. Point is, anyone want to buy my car?
  • someone in my building is renting out a parking space. Let me know if you're interested and I'll put you in touch with her.
  • How much for the spot? (And where is the location?)

    Assuming it's still available.
  • I think they're asking $300 a month. might be negotiable. It's indoors on saint marks and washington.
  • Oh . . . we're paying $230/mo for the garage on St. John's near Franklin Park. Thanks anyway.
  • I'll tell her she's gotta beat that price. I'll let ya know
  • really i have a car and i live on underhill/st johns and parking isnt that hard. its fairly easy to just park on the street. and your cars fairly safe.

I would agree with this, except to add that if you are an infrequent driver it _is_ a PITA because of the hokey pokey alternate side parking dance.
