  • Seems like St Johns and Underhill (my corner). Really loud here and close enough that I can smell it.
  • I dunno, but, yeah, WTF??

They SEEM like they are right outside my window... Sounds that way and I can see flashes.
  • there was an outdoor movie at prospect park tonight..could this be part of it?
  • No idea. Sure caught me by surprise. I can see them from my front window on Butler Pl. BK Library, perhaps???
  • what in the blue fuck is going on?
  • Yeah really, a bit shocking... I LOVE fireworks, but they really came out of nowhere and so loud..

Great, I just put on my shoes and then it stopped. No sirens followed. No screams of terror. Any guesses?
  • firt thought: gang war.

they showed jurassic park in prospect park a few years ago and ended with fireworks. if they have done it again, someone needs to tell them it sucks.
  • yeah i just skated up the hill the fire dudes told me it was for a "movie" they had showing/going on in the park !

  • Today was the fireworks and movie. I just watched the show from my bathroom window.

LOL , The kids were in here crying cuz they were soooo soooo loud! They stopped after they saw the pretty colors.

The movie is probably starting now. I thought it was going to be movie then fireworks , but I guess they changed their minds.

They set them off from Mt. Prospect Park.
  • Wow! I can't believe the smoke drifted all the way over here.
  • Wow!!! I'm all the way on Bergen bet. Brooklyn & New York and my neighbor and I heard it all the way up here. I'm glad I don't have a heart condition...at least I didn't before. lol
  • Damn. I chose exactly the wrong time to put the kids to bed. Scared the crap out of all of us.
  • Are you sure they weren't gunshots?

OK, you got me. I lied. I wasn't putting on shoes. I was actually putting on the Batman suit, but I couldn't get the belt over my beer gut.

I'm in clinton hill at Clinton and Wilhoughby and I could see and hear the fireworks pretty well from my apartment. It looked like they were launched near GAP, probably on the lawn like they do for New Years.
  • they launch from Mt. Prospect Park. I can still smell the gun powder in my apt. not kidding.
